Abstract: The area described includes the survey districts of Inangahua, Brighton, Punakaiki, Maimai, Reefton, Temiko, Waiwhero, Mawheraiti, Waitahu, and small portions of Maruia and Pohaturoa survey districts, in all an area of about 1,046 square miles. The field work commenced in October 1912, and concluded towards the end of May, 1914.Deals with the general and economic geology of the Reefton subdivision. The subdivision contains important mineral resources in the shape of gold – alluvial and vein – and of coal. (auth/DG)
