Park, J. 1906 The geology of the area covered by the Alexandra sheet, central Otago division : including the survey districts of Leaning Rock, Tiger Hill, and Poolburn. Wellington: Government Printer. New Zealand Geological Survey bulletin 2 52 p.
Abstract: The area covered by the Alexandra sheet extends from Alexandra, along the valley of the Clutha, to a point a few miles below Cromwell, and from Alexandra along the Manuherikia Valley to Ophir, whence it reaches across Raggedy Ridge into Ida Valley. It lies nearly equidistant from the sea on both coasts, and includes the survey districts of Leaning Rock, Tiger Hill, and Poolburn. The work undertaken in the summer of 1905-6 included an examination of the geological structure of the district, of the physical features and surface-forms, of former glaciation, of the nature and extent of the gold-bearing drifts, coal-deposits, and metalliferous lodes, of the soil and water-supply.
