Wood, P.R.; Otway, P.M. 1973 Survey report - Hutt Valley geodetic chain, 1972 and 1973 : triangulation. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 23 28 p.

Abstract: In December 1971 survey marks were installed to form together with existing Department of Lands and Survey trig stations, a geodetic triangulation chain consisting of four braced quadrilaterals including the "Wellington Quadrilateral" (Otway, 1972). The chain is called the "Wellington - Hutt Valley chain" and was established to extend geodetic monitoring of earth deformation along the Wellington fault. It is based on a proposal by lensen (1968) as part of a comprehensive plan for monitoring earth deformation in the wellington region. This report presents only the triangulation results from the 1972 and 1973 surveys, and contributes to the long term accumulation of data for earth deformation studies in the region. (auth)
