Thomson, R. 1976 Roadline geology upstream from the DG7 damsite. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 246 9 p.

Abstract: The existing highway between the DG 7 Damsite and Cromwell will be inundated by the DG 7 reservoir, assuming complete implementation of Scheme H. Present proposals are for the realigned road to be constructed by both cut and fill marginal to the reservoir shoreline. Most of the length of the realignment section will traverse the lower slopes of extensive mass movement deposits that are currently stable but which have an as yet unknown susceptibility to reactivated landsliding resulting from changing ground water levels and shoreline erosion. Consideration should be given to alternative routes at higher elevations; one such alignment has been suggested. (auth)
