Riddolls, B.W. 1972 Geology of General Post Office site, Wellington. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 132 18 p.
Abstract: Recent drilling has shown the existence of a succession of sediments dominated by weathered gravels, overlying weathered greywacke and argillite. The gravels appear to have been deposited in a broad gully trending across the site in a northeasterly direction. The depth of weathering is, however, relatively uniform, apart from the greater depth due to a probable fault displacement at the northeast corner of the site. (auth)
