Mansergh, G.D. 1973 Tekapo-Pukaki canal, Maryburn crossing, S100 : report no. 3. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 152 6 p.

Abstract: Investigations at the site of the Maryburn culvert suggested that a number of alternative interpretations of the geology could be made (Mansergh 1972 a and b). A further hole was requested to resolve these problems and shaft S51 was put down to a depth of 113 ft; a log of the shaft is attached to this report. The first 9 ft pass through fill and the next 8 ft through alluvium. The hole was then cased and thus not logged from 17 ft to 44 ft 6 ins but from there to the base of the hole Maryburn Unit sediments were seen continuously. (auth)
