Moore, P.R. 1974 Maui pipeline project, proposed Oaonui-New Plymouth section (N108-N118): geological report. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 187 7 p.

Abstract: Comment on the two alternative routes of a proposed pipeline from Oaonui (N118) to Frankley Road, 6 km south of New Plymouth (N108), was requested by the Maui Pipeline Project office, Ministry of Works, in a letter dated 12 June 1974. The purpose of the pipeline is to carry natural gas from the Maui offshore field initially to New Plymouth, and involves the construction of a 864 mm (34 in. diam.) natural gas line and a 203 mm (8 in. diam.) condensate line. The pipes will lie approximately 1 m beneath ground level for much of the route; their expected life is about 50 years. This report has been compiled from existing published and unpublished data and study of aerial photographs; no field observations have been made. (auth)
