Abstract: The Ministry of Works and Development, in conjunction with the Lands and Survey Department and Taupo County Council is preparing a report setting out guide lines for co-ordinating the future development of recreation areas around Tokaanu. The initial reports of the working party the Waihi steaming cliffs (Hipaua Thermal Area) was suggested as an area of scientific potential. It was recommended that development of this area be postponed until a geological assessment was made. (auth)
