Hegan, B.D. 1975 Geological investigations of the Rangipo headrace alignment. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 215 6 p.

Abstract: The Rangipo stage of the Tongariro Power Development will divert most of the Waikato River above the Waihohonu Stream confluence through a headrace tunnel sited in the western flanks of the Kaimanawa Mountains. An underground powerhouse is to be sited in the lower reaches of the Waikoko Stream. Water will be led away from the powerhouse through a tailrace tunnel and discharged back into the Tongariro River immediately upstream from the Poutu Intake. (auth)
