Read, S.A.L. 1975 Pukaki Lake control - left bank, thickness of ''Natural blanket''. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 240 34 p.

Abstract: The Pukaki Lake Control earth dam, now under construction, will utilize an impermeable upstream blanket to prevent leakage under and around the structure (Layout on sheet 1). In addition to these placed blankets a ''natural blanket'' exists above relatively much more permeable ''gravel'' which is present ubiquously under the whole structure. The photograph on page 2 shows a general view of the report area with the layout of structure superimposed. The report summarises the majority of the investigations which have been done in the left bank area of the structure since 1964. The thickness and extent of the ''natural blanket'' are given and a recommendation to extend part of the new earth dam blanket is made. This report is similar to the one finished in September dealing with the right bank area of the structure (EG232, Read 1975). (auth)
