Hancox, G.T. 1978 Engineering geological report on the proposed Brooklyn West subdivision (stage 1) and school site. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 301 11 p.

Abstract: This report on the proposed Brooklyn West Subdivision and school site was prepared to following a request from the Ministry of Works and Development in August 1997. A letter (dated 23 August 1977) from Mr G.H. McKenzie, M.W.D., Head Office (ref: GA 31/2767), indicated that the request was prompted by a dispute between the subdivision developers (T.S.E. Group Consultants Ltd.) and Action for the Environment Inc., on the geological stability of the site and the stability of the subdivision proposals. The area of the proposed subdivision was inspected by the author on Tuesday 21 February 1978 in the company of Mr Barry Evans (T.S.E. Group Consultants) who outlined the current development proposals (described in Section 2.0). A brief engineering geological assessment of the subdivision proposals has been made on the basis of the site inspection; a study of aerial photos of the area; and an appraisal of relevant published geological literature (see references – Section 6), and miscellaneous correspondence and reports relating to the subdivision, which were supplied by the M.W.D.
