Beetham, R.D. 1978 Maui pipeline project, pipeline for Natural Gas Corporation: geological evaluation for proposed route - Te Awamutu to Kinleith. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 313 10 p.

Abstract: A brief geological examination of the proposed high pressure gas pipeline route from the Waikato meter station to Kinleith shows that the route traverses rolling farmlands of low topographical relief, developed mainly on a series of ignimbritic sheets or their derivatives, which are stable and unaffected by recent faulting. Favourable conditions are expected for trench excavation although moderately strong, but rippable, ignimbrite will be encountered close to the surface over the eastern section of the route. (auth)
