Franks, C.A.M. 1987 National Hydro Resource Assessment : engineering geology of hydro-electric sites in Region 8, north east coast of South Island. [Lower Hutt]: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 414 30 p.
Astract: The National Hydro Resource Assessment involves assessing all sizable hydro-electric resources remaining in New Zealand. This report is a compilation of desk studies carried out to summarise the engineering geological conditions at 17 possible hydro-electric sites in the north east area of the South Island (north Canterbury, Marlborough). A total of 81 schemes spread throughout New Zealand will eventually be examined. No field visits have been carried out and most of the geological information was inferred from published maps, bulletins and reports. Prepared for Ministry of Works and Development (auth)
