Abstract: Following the 2010-2012 Canterbury Earthquake Sequence the Christchurch area was the focus of an unparalleled investigation of subsurface ground conditions, resulting in extensive acquisition to drillhole, geotechnical and geophysical data. These new data have been combined with legacy information including logs that describe more than 12,000 wells drilled for groundwater, one of Christchurch's most valuable resources.
This disc contains new geological interpretations of the Christchurch and eastern Canterbury area in various formats. Included are:
a geomorphological map
a 3D geological model of the eastern Canterbury area
a 3D geological map of the Christchurch urban area
3D geotechnical models of inner Christchurch city.
a text describing the geomorphological map, 3D models, and subsurface Quaternary materials of the area.
The map and model data are in digital file formats viewable using Leapfrog Viewer 3D modelling software and ArcMap, ArcReader and ArcScene GIS software.
