Williams, D.N. 1975 A bibliography of Wellington geology, 1855-1970. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. Report NZGS 71 54 p.
Abstract: In 1970 an unpublished bibliography of Wellington geology was prepared and distributed. It included all known references up to the end of 1969. This compilation is a revision of the earlier work and includes all known references to Wellington geology, which were published up until the end of 1970. It is produced as an aid to the Geological Survey mapping programme and to meet a demand for information on the geology of the district, stimulated in the last year by the publication of ''Rugged Landscape'' by G.R. Stevens. This bibliography includes published works on the geology of the south-west part of the North Island, covered by the west half of Sheet 12 Wellington, of the Geological Map of New Zealand 1:250,000. The Wellington region so defined includes the Tararua and Rimutaka Ranges with their valleys and the coastal plains to the west, with Kapiti Island offshore. It is a distinct geologic and physiographic province, contrasting with the Wairarapa basin and east coast ranges.
