Whiteford, C.M.; Lumb, J.T. 1975 A catalogue of physical properties of rocks, volume 2: listing by geographic location. [s.l.]: [s.n.]. Report / Geophysics Division 106 150 p.
Abstract: This is one of three volumes of a catalogue of physical properties of rocks from New Zealand and elsewhere. These properties, which may have been measured either in the laboratory or in the field, are: 1. Density (dry, wet and particle), 2. Magnetic susceptibility, 3. Remanent magnetisation (intensity and direction), 4. Permeability (fluid flow), 5. Thermal conductivity, 6. Electrical resistivity, 7. Seismic velocity (P-wave and S-wave) including the azimuth of its measurement. The catalogue also provides information on the age of the sample (stratigraphic and absolute), and the group or formation from which it comes. The sampling locality and rock type are given and these, together with the catalogue reference number, form the basis of the sorting in the three volumes.
