Hicks, S.R. 1975 Seismic reflection profiling in the Rangitoto Channel and the Tamaki Estuary. [s.l.]: [s.n.]. Report / Geophysics Division 109 11 p.

Abstract: Seismic reflection profiling surveys were conducted along the Rangitoto Channel and across the Tamaki Estuary, to assist the Auckland Harbour Board in planning dredging operations. In the Rangitoto Channel, the bedrock profile was traced for about three kilometres. The results indicate that for over 1300 metres of the profile, the rock is within five metres of the sea bed. Results from the Tamaki Estuary were poor, but suggest that the sand is up to 18 metres thick. (auth.)
