Dawson, G.B.; Rayner, H.H. 1979 Interpretation of geophysical surveys, Waipa - Whakarewarewa, 1976. Wellington: DSIR, Geophysics Division. Report / Geophysics Division 133 4 p.

Abstract: The interpretation of electrical and magnetic surveys suggests that there is a tongue of 150degC water extending from Whakarewarewa under Pohaturoa Ridge. Although hot water is unlikely to be found at shallow depths below the mill, it is likely to be found about 300 m nearer the mill than the present hole. There is also a resistivity anomaly north- east of the mill that could indicate hot water. (auth)
