Broadbent, M. 1974 Seismic and gravity surveys on the Tasman Glacier: 1971-2. : . Report / Geophysics Division 91 43 p.

Abstract: Seismic reflection measurements have been conducted at two locations on the Tasman Glacier to determine ice thickness. The maximum thickness of the glacier ice opposite Malte Brun Hut has been estimated to be 600 m. The corresponding transverse cross sectional area of the glacier ice has been inferred to be 470,000 sq. m . The maximum thickness of the ice opposite Ball Hut has been estimated to be 615 m, the corresponding cross sectional area of the ice being 640,000 sq. m. The volume flow rate of ice down the glacier near Malte Brun Hut has been inferred to be 68,000,000 cubic m/year, by using published ice flow velocities (auth.)
