Raine, J.I.; Strong, C.P.; Wilson, G.J.; Pocknall, D.T. 1994 Biostratigraphic revision of the Late Cretaceous to Early Eocene in selected offshore exploration wells, south Canterbury Bight, New Zealand . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 94/30 98 p.

Abstract: This report details biostratigraphic and paleoenvironmental revisions, based on foraminifera, dinoflagellates and miospores, of the Late Cretaceous to Early Eocene sections in Clipper-1, Endeavour-1 and Gaileon-1 petroleum exploration wells, southern Canterbury Bight on the east coast of South Island, New Zealand. The results are based on re-evaluation of existing samples, as well as examination of new material, and refine and sometimes modify earlier paleontological interpretation of these drillholes. The correlation of the drillhole sequences with the onshore section at Shag Point, North Otago, is also considered. (auths)
