Abstract: A density profiler made to scan samples with a minimum thickness of a few millimetres has been modified to scan samples of thin card. By using a dual beam technique the profiles of fibre and filler materials in the card have been measured. The results show the filler density is highest at one surface and that the fibre is evenly distributed. Attempts at deconvolution to improve low resolution scans and thus shorten measurement times have achieved some success. (auth)
