Abstract: During January to March 1995 15 Trimble 4000 SSE GPS receivers were brought into New Zealand for the 1995 Dynamics of the Solid Earth (DOSE) GPS programme. The principle aims of this programme were to carry out the Megametre and Christchurch-Hokitika GPS surveys. While the receivers were in New Zealand the opportunity was taken to resurvey the North Taupo regional network, South Rotorua regional network, and Okataina regional network in the Taupo Volcanic Zone (TVZ). In conjunction with these surveys the Department of Survey and Land Information (DOSLI) carried out a survey of 1st order trig stations and their new 2nd order 2000 network in the Taupo-Bay of Plenty region using Leica (Model 299) GPS receivers. This report describes the field operations carried out by GNS during the 1995 deployment in the TVZ, the data collected, and processing of the Trimble GPS observations. (auth)
