Abstract: A small basin filled with flexible sediment has been investigated by means of seismic refraction, Cone Penetration Testing, Seismic Cone Penetrometer Testing and evaluation of samples obtained by Standard Penetration Testing, and a three dimensional model of the modulus properties of the basin and its infill material has been determined. The seismic response of the basin was determined by means of a dense network of EARSS seismographs, four on the firm material and fifteen on the flexible material. In the 38 days of network operation, 105 earthquakes were recorded, ten of them at over 15 of the sites. Whole-basin response was not observed for any of the earthquakes, and soil to rock spectral rations did not assume large values.
