Klyen, L.E. 1996 Sampling techniques for geothermal fluids . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 96/29 157 p.

Abstract: This manual gives instructions for the collection of water and gas samples from geothermal wells, fumaroles and other associated hydrothermal emissions. It aims to provide a ready reference for those new to geothermal field work. For this reason emphasis is laid upon practical aspects of the various techniques and items of equipment rather than upon theoretical principles. Many of the techniques and practices described are those developed and refined over some thirty-five years by the former Chemistry Division of the DSIR's Research Centre at Wairakei and, latterly, at the Institute of Geology and Nuclear Sciences which now occupies the Wairakei Campus.
