Beavan, R.J. 1997 Kinematics of the New Zealand plate boundary : field report on the 1997 GPS survey of the Christchurch to Hokitika and megametre networks. Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 97/15 42 p.

Abstract: During January 1997 the Christchurch-Hokitika and ''megametre'' GPS networks were remeasured. The aims of the 1997 measurements were as follows. 1. Repeat Christchurch-Hokitika GPS network. Measurement of the ''megametre'' network to be undertaken simultaneously with the South Island network. 2. Add new survey points in the vicinity of the Hope fault/Alpine fault intersection. 3. Geological and tectonic mapping in the same area. 4. Resurvey about 20 points of the 1994 Marlborough fault zone GPS network. 5. Occupy the Taylor Pass fault-crossing network and other survey marks near Lake Jasper on the Awatere fault. (JED)
