Raine, J.I. 1998 Data preparation for graphic correlation and related software. Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 98/24 13 p.
Abstract: Compilation and computer processing of biostratigraphic data for use with graphic correlation software is described. Following initial extraction of archived data from the New Zealand Fossil Record File database (FRED), or compilation in a PC spreadsheet, taxon range files are prepared for each stratigraphic section using a simple conversion program. These section files form the basis of further processing. They conform to the input format for GraphCor, and, after dictionary file preparation using GraphCor utility, can be transformed into input files for ranking and scaling (RASC) and constrained optimisation (CONOP) by applying further new conversion routines.
