Chang, S.W.; Choi, H.; Lee, S.R.; Graham, I.J.; Wright, I. 2003 Ferromanganese nodules in the vicinity of Bollons Seamount SE of the Campbell Plateau, SW Pacific Ocean. Part 1, Distribution and external morphology . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 2003/13 41 p.

Abstract: The report forms part of a 5-year project to assess the evolution and environmental setting of the Campbell Nodule Field. It contains a description of sampling methods used and observations made during the SAA3 cruise of RV Tangaroa to the Campbell Plateau-Bollons Seamount region in July-August, 1999. Recovered nodules are described generally, and categorised by morphology and mode of occurrence. Seafloor nodule density and substrate characteristics are defined using seafloor photographs. (auth)
