Part 3, Beryllium isotope dating . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 2003/15 40 p.

Abstract: This report forms part of a 5-year project to assess the evolution and environmental setting of the Campbell Nodule Field. As such, it should be read in conjunction with Chang et al (2003a & b) which contain detailed descriptions of nodule distribution & morphology, and mineralogy & chemistry, respectively. Data are presented on the age and growth rates of nodules dredged from the field during the SAA3 Cruise of . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. RV Tangaroa to the Campbell Plateau-Bollons Seamount region in July-August, 1999. Dating methods developed at the Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences using the cosmogenic isotope 10Be are described, and interpretive models using 10Be/9Be data are discussed. (auth)
