Becker, J.S.; Coomer, M.A.; Leonard, G.S.; Kelman, I. 2006 February 2004 flooding impacts : tabulated results of a survey of residents from the Manawatu-Wanganui Region. Lower Hutt, N.Z.: GNS Science. GNS Science report 2006/14 128 p.

Abstract: On the 14-15 February 2004 the lower North Island of New Zeland experienced a period of heavy rainfall leading to severe flooding across the area. Flooding was particularly severe in the Manawau-Wanganui region. To investigate the impacts of the February 2004 storm on residents living in the region, a survey of 2,500 residents from both town and rural areas was undertaken. The aim of the survey was to investigate a range of issues including damage experienced as a result of the February flood/storm event, other impacts of the flood/storm event, insurance issues, preparedness for past and future events, flood warning issues and community resilience. This report presents the results of the survey in table format, but does not contain any interpretation or analysis. (auth)
