Morgans, H.E.G. 2006 Foraminiferal biostratigraphy of the Early Miocene to Pleistocene sequences in Witiora-1, Taimana-1, Arawa-1 and Okoki-1. Lower Hutt, N.Z.: GNS Science. GNS Science report 2006/37 37 p.

Abstract: This report correlates 15 key foraminiferal events, usually tops, through 4 offshore petroleum exploration wells (Witiora-1, Taimana-1, Arawa-1, Okoki-1) in the north Taranaki Bight. Ninety new foraminiferal samples were examined from around key event datums. CONOP derived datums and seismic horizons are also plotted and ages assigend to the seismic horizons. The events for each well are listed and documented as are key paleobathymetric indicators. Significant mis-correlation between foraminiferal events and seismic horizons highlights areas where extra foraminiferal dating could be done. (auth)
