Zink, K.-G.; Sykes, R. 2010 Geochemical database and interpretation of 10 oils from several New Zealand basins. Lower Hutt, N.Z.: GNS Science. GNS Science report 2009/13 59 p.

Abstract: This report presents new, standardised organic geochemical data for 10 oils and gas condensates (including five seep oils) from several New Zealand basins, namely East Coast (Waitangi, Totangi, Rotokautuku), Murchison (Blackwater-1), Grey Valley (Niagara-1, Kotuku, Petroleum Creek-3), Canterbury (Galleon-1), Great South (Kawau-1A) and South Westland (Madagascar Beach). The main objectives were to assess oil quality, source and relative maturity and to verify previous data sets using modern analytical instruments and procedures. Detailed comparison is also made to 70 Taranaki oils and gas condensates recently analysed using the same instruments and procedures. (auth)
