Palmer, N.G. 2010 Kinematics of the New Zealand plate boundary : field report on GPS surveys of the central South Island network in 2010 (CSI2010) Lower Hutt, N.Z.: GNS Science. GNS Science report 2010/21 42 p.
Abstract: During a 14 day period in February 2010, a combined team from GNS Science, University of Otago Survey School and Land Information New Zealand measured a Global Positioning System (GPS) network throughout the Central South Island area of New Zealand. This “CSI2010” campaign is intended to repeat previous comprehensive GPS surveys of the Central South Island network that have been carried out in February 1996, February 1998 and February 2002. This report documents the field operations of the “CSI2010” resurvey. It describes the logistics of the campaign, the sites occupied and the data collected. The observations are part of a Foundation for Research, Science and Technology (FRST) supported project “Impacts of Plate Tectonics in and around New Zealand” at GNS Science. It is intended that these observations will be used in continuing studies into earth deformation within New Zealand. (auth)
