Abstract: This report contains basic knowledge required before attempting NRA and more specifically resonant NRA. Non resonant NRA is discussed in broad terms. This report covers the internship period from May to July 2011. The first part of this report presents the theory about NRA, mainly from a reference point of view. This part provides general information. Main formulas are given to understand data from later experiments. The second part refers to papers written by GNS researchers using NRA technique giving an idea about energies and reactions studied to date. The last part of the report details the experiments with carbon and nitrogen nuclear reactions. Profiles were obtained using the theory. Calculations have been performed to obtain depth profiles considering the background subtraction, energy loss estimations and formulas corrections. (auth)
