Christie, A.B.; Rattenbury, M.S.; Barker, R.G.; Stagpoole, V.M. 2014 Recommendations for new Government-funded airborne geophysical surveys. Lower Hutt, N.Z.: GNS Science. GNS Science report 2014/56 22 p.

Abstract: This report describes and ranks areas in New Zealand for airborne geophysical surveys that have mineral exploration potential and gives approximated costs for surveying. The recommended areas are, in ranked order: 1. Waikato, southern Coromandel and eastern Bay of Plenty 2. Southland and South Otago 3. Marlborough and South Nelson The considerations in the ranking process are based on technical grounds; mineral prospectivity of areas and the type of data to be acquired. On technical merit criteria only, the southern Coromandel part of the Waikato, and eastern Bay of Plenty area ranked highest. (auth)
