Abstract: The Gore Subdivision, which lies in eastern Southland, covers 436 square miles in area. During the 1945-46 field season, preliminary work was done on the area between Gore, Pukerau, and Kaiwera. During 1949, the writer examined in detail a small area around Waipahi, underlain mainly by Paleozoic rocks. The results have been incorporated in this bulletin. (auth/EB)
