Abstract: A reconnaissance geological survey has been carried out on the lower flanks of Mt. Ruapehu below the Iwikau Village in an attempt to locate a permeable stratum into which sewerage might be discharged. The area surveyed was bounded by the Te Herenga Ridge and a prominent ridge between two branches of the Whakapapaiti Stream (see plan 100/I/1). (auth)
