Japan-Taiwan-New Zealand Seismic Hazard Field Trip 2026
Wairarapa 2 day field trip
Friday 30 October
8.00 am - 4.00 pm Travel to Wairarapa – visit 1855 rupture sites and active faults.
4:00 pm - 7.30 pm Dinner in Martinborough.
Stay at Copthorne Hotel Wairarapa
Saturday 31 October
8:30 am – 4:00 pm Transect across subduction margin
4:00 pm Arrive at Wellington train station.
Fieldtrip transport will be provided. If you can only attend one day of the fieldtrip you will be able to catch a train back to Wellington (from Masterton) on Friday evening or Saturday morning – this can be arranged for you by contacting the meeting conveners. The Friday train departs at 3.38pm and Saturday morning train at 7.45am – allow 2-3 hours to get to the airport.
Travel, activities, meals and accommodation for the fieldtrip will be organised by the conference committee, and costs will be covered by the registration fee
All prices are in NZ$. The price shown on each item does not include 15% GST which will be added at time of purchase
The registration deadline is Monday, 5 October (New Zealand time), but please register as soon as possible so that we have final numbers for planning
