Abstract: This sheet covers part of the Aupouri Peninsula. It extends from the east to the west coast and from Waipapakauri in the south to Houhora in the north. The mapped area is part of the tombolo linking North Cape `Island' and Mount Camel `Island' to the mainland. Physiographically the mapped area can be divided into the rocky country of Houhora Peninsula in the northeast and the sand country in the remaining area. Mt Camel (236 m) is the dominant feature
