Arber, E.A.N. 1917 The Earlier Mesozoic floras of New Zealand. New Zealand Geological Survey paleontological bulletin 6. 80 p.
Abstract: This memoir is concerned with an account of the earlier Mesozoic floras of New Zealand. A large number of specimens from different localities in these islands are discussed. The geological ages of the rocks in which they occur vary from Triasso-Rhaetic to Neocomian. The majority of the specimens have not been previously described. One result of the present work has been to show that Palaeozoic plants are quite unknown from New Zealand. The fossil floras discussed here appear to be chiefly of Triasso-Rhaetic or Jurassic age, several examples occurring in different regions. A very interesting Neocomian flora is described. Several new genera and species are instituted. (auth/EB)
