Abstract: Seventy-seven seismic noise observations were made in Gisborne City and suburbs during February 1971. The relative noise levels throughout the area form a broad pattern consistent with geology, subsurface knowledge from engineering works and failure during the 1966 Gisborne earthquake. (auth)
