Abstract: In order to obtain further information about site conditions in Westport and Greymouth and the effect of these conditions on the damage sustained in the 1968 Inangahua earthquake, a seismic microtremor investigation was carried out in the urban areas of the two towns. The methodology used in the acquisition of the site measurements, and the results of computations and interpretations of the microtremor recordings are presented. (auth)
