Abstract: The Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences has begun to grow its capability in processing and interpretation of airborne geophysical methods for studying the structure of New Zealand including exploration for minerals and petroleum resources. In the first year, processing, interpretation and display software (INTREPID and ERMapper) have been purchased and experience gained in its use by the compilation of an aeromagnetic map of the Taupo Volcanic Zone using data of several vintages and quality.
