Abstract
This work presents a brief narrative on work in the realm of Natural Language Processing undertaken by GNS Science in the area of Social Science. In particular, the work describedwas undertaken to analyse media coverage of climate-change issues during and after extreme weather events. Foundational work is described, involving simple frequency analysis techniques, as well as more recent work that begins to involve the use of language models and knowledge graphs.
