Abstract
Between August 2024 and November 2024, three wells were installed in the Aupōuri Peninsula for the above purpose. This report describes the results of drilling and associated testing activities at the three wells, but does not provide interpretation of these results – application of the results have been used and reported in subsequent reports on SkyTEM-based hydrogeological interpretation (Westerhoff et al. 2025) and groundwater flow modelling (Moore et al., in prep.).The three wells were drilled by McMillan Drilling using a rotary sonic rig in the southern part of the Aupōuri Peninsula. Completed well depths were 119 m BGL (metres below ground level) (Well ID LOC.343198, Pukenui), 74 m BGL (Well ID LOC.343199, Kaimaumau) and 38 m BGL (Well ID LOC.343190, Ahipara), but the wells were drilled through the entire thickness of the unconsolidated sand, shell and peat deposits and into the underlying basement. Specifically, this report describes the results of drilling, and associated core sampling, water sampling and hydraulic testing performed at each well. It also summarises water level monitoring data collected between March and September 2025 at each well (auths)
