Moss, I.R. 1981 Kakariki site report (Wellington fault). Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 73 23 p.

Abstract: Originally Installed in 1964 the Kakariki Fault Monitoring Pattern consisted of an alignment at right angles to the Wellington Fault which Lands and Survey Department (L & S) later modified by offsetting some marks and tying into trip 15312 (L & S S.O. 28396). Before the first survey by EDS / NZGS (1976), three extra points were installed to complement the alignment with a braced quadrilateral. In 1981 two more bench marks were installed closer to the fault traces to form a series of strong figures intended to be measured with the Mekometer. The pattern is part of a network throughout New Zealand designed to measure secular earth deformation (auth)
