Abstract: The Saxton Fault Monitoring Pattern, on the Awatere Fault, was installed in 1980 by NZGS to supplement the Acheron Fault Monitoring Pattern installed by Professor J.B. Mackie of Otago University (SM 4820). These two patterns form part of a network of patterns throughout New Zealand designed to monitor earth deformation.
