McKellar, I.C. 1974 Shoreline development on the lakes behind the proposed DG3 and DG7 dams, Clutha Valley. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EG 204 12 p.

Abstract: This progress report presents a simplified geological map of rock materials along the shoreline of the proposed DG3 and DG7 reservoirs. It shows the lengths of shoreline where we can expect the most modification by shoreline processes and also where the shoreline is resistant enough to be only very slightly modified by wave action. The map is open to additions and corrections as better contouring becomes available and as subsurface and surface investigations proceed. Some parts of the shoreline will need more detailed mapping, e.g. near Bannockburn. Note that the map DG3 shoreline shows the geology at the 540 ft contour. This is only slightly different from that at 527 ft, the present proposed flood level. (auth)
