Abstract: The Ohau B Powerhouse is at the downstream end of the Ohau B canal and is part of the Ohau B and C Power Project on the Upper Waitaki Power Development Scheme, (Location on Fig 1). The powerhouse, which is sited on a set of river terraces cut by the Ohau River (photograph on p. 2), will have a nominal head of 48 m with a full flow (525m/sup3/ /sec) generating capacity of 212MW at an overall efficiency of 86% (Lovatt 1973). The site position and layout discussed in this report is that proposed in Lovatt (1973) and these are given in Figure 1. (auth)
