Abstract: During 1968 an access road was constructed across a steep bush clad slope above the present investigation drive for the Rangipo Powerhouse. Since the formation of the road several major slides have occurred carrying down volcanic tephra and vegetation into the bed of the Waikoko Stream near the present investigation drive establishment. This report reviews the history of the slides and comments on likely future activity. (auth)
