Abstract: This report presents the results of the geotechnical and the engineering geological feasibility assessment of Sector 2 of the proposed Huntly to Marsden B Power Station gas pipeline. The proposed gas pipeline is a welded steel pipe, approximately 500 mm Diameter and buried at least 1 metre below the ground surface. The investigation consisted of a detailed office study of existing information and field reconnaissance of the proposed route. Sector 2 covers the Auckland isthmus from the Waikato River in the south to Kumeu and Silverdale in the north. Prepared for Electricity Corporation of New Zealand Limited. (auth/DG)
